The Coaching Academy
The National Golf Centre has one of the finest coaching facilities in Europe and encourages juniors and adults of all standards to visit and improve their skills.
The floodlit 18 bay driving range looks out onto an area designed to replicate the problems golfers face when on course. Trees and woodland areas have been retained and greens located to assist the development and practice of a golfers shot making skills. The Driving Range is open to the public every day between 7.00am - 7.00pm.
The most visionary aspect of the training Academy is the six acre area devoted to the development of short game skills. In addition to the large putting green, there are eight target greens to aim at offering shots of all lengths up to 100 yards. There are a range of individually styled bunkers with varying grades of sand. The short game area can only be used with a PGA professional in attendance and must be booked in advance. The EGU national squads, county squads and many other groups regually take advantage of The National Golf Centre's unrivalled facilities. Over the years the EGUs investment in extensive coaching for up-and-coming golfers has produced many of the top players on the European Tour today such as Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Nick Dougherty.
